Melanie Amin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her master's in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She works with adults of all ages and provides individual, couples, and family therapy services. For over 20 years, Melanie has partnered with her clients to support them with concerns related to depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, trauma, and difficult life transitions.
She has extensive knowledge of how to help people cope with loss, grief, change management, and chronic illness. Melanie has also provided group therapy, case management, and crisis services in both health care and community settings.
Known for her empathetic and validating communication style, Melanie creates a safe environment that encourages freedom of expression. She helps clients make positive changes in their lives when they are overwhelmed.
Her primary therapeutic style is Cognitive Behavioral, exploring the thoughts and feelings that help clients move forward in ways that best support them. Melanie incorporates mindfulness-based techniques as well as strengths- and solution-based approaches.
